Former Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, denounced his impeachment as illegal and a threat to democracy.

Shaibu claimed that trumped-up charges were brought against him because of his ambition to run for the 2024 Edo State governorship election under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He asserted that the impeachment was an attack on democratic principles and urged citizens to resist tyranny and oppression.

Shaibu called on the judiciary and relevant authorities to intervene and uphold justice and fairness, expressing confidence that the legal system would vindicate him.

He reaffirmed his commitment to fighting for the rights and freedom of the people of Edo State and Nigerians at large.
