The Edo State House of Assembly has impeached Deputy Governor Comrade Philip Shaibu following a voting process during the Assembly’s session. Out of the 20 members present, 18 voted in favor of the impeachment, while one member dissented.

The decision to impeach Shaibu came after findings from a seven-man panel led by Justice Stephen Omonua (Rtd), established by the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Daniel Okungbowa. Shaibu was found guilty of disclosing official secrets, leading to his impeachment.
