Dangote Refinery Begins Supplying Petroleum Products Local Distributors

Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has reaffirmed its commitment to reducing the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, despite global crude oil price fluctuations.

In an official statement issued Monday, Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, emphasized that the Aliko Dangote-led refinery is prioritizing affordability and national economic stability.

“Our goal is to consistently ease the burden on Nigerian consumers by maintaining stability and reducing petrol prices,” Chiejina said.

Support for Nigeria’s Economy and Energy Security

Dangote Refinery’s pricing strategy aligns with the Federal Government’s “Nigeria First” policy, which encourages local production and consumption of goods and services. The company noted that by refining products domestically at the world’s largest single-train refinery, it contributes to:

  • Energy security

  • Foreign exchange conservation

  • Long-term economic resilience

These efforts are in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at tackling economic challenges and improving quality of life across the country.

“We are proud to support Nigeria through domestic refining, and we appreciate President Tinubu’s Naira-for-Crude Initiative,” the statement read.

National Impact and Strategic Partnerships

The Naira-for-Crude initiative, a key driver behind Dangote’s ability to offer fuel at reduced prices, has been commended for its role in making energy more affordable for Nigerians.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery assured stakeholders—including government bodies, private sector partners, and end-users—of its unwavering focus on operational excellence, affordability, and national development.

“We will continue to prioritize affordability, quality, and national interest in every aspect of our operations,” the company added.

With this announcement, Dangote Petroleum Refinery reiterates its role not just as a commercial entity, but as a strategic partner in Nigeria’s long-term economic vision.
