President Tinubu to Reshuffle 47-Man Cabinet, Says Presidency

The Presidency revealed on Wednesday that President Bola Tinubu is considering a reshuffle of his 47-member Federal Executive Council.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the plans while briefing journalists at the State House in Abuja. Responding to a reporter’s inquiry, Onanuga stated that the President is currently “tinkering with the idea” of reorganising his cabinet but did not provide a specific timeline for when the reshuffle would take place.

“It’s true President Bola Tinubu has plans to reshuffle his cabinet, but I can’t say specifically whether that will be done before the Independence celebration on October 1,” Onanuga said.

This comes as President Tinubu seeks to adjust his team to better address the nation’s economic and political challenges. The possible reshuffle may involve Ministers being moved to different portfolios or some being dropped altogether.

The move is expected to be closely watched, as it could signal shifts in policy direction and strategic governance in Nigeria.
