Why NNPP Dissolved State Executive Committees in Five States, Criticizes APC Over Fuel Price Hike
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has dissolved the executive committees in five states: Taraba, Benue, Oyo, Bauchi, and Gombe. This decision was made during an emergency meeting in Abuja as part of efforts to reposition the party in those regions.

Ladipo Johnson, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, stated that the move was in line with the party’s constitution, particularly articles 14.2.1 and 15.2.1, which allow the NWC to take such measures. Caretaker committees will be appointed in these states shortly to replace the dissolved leadership.

While the NNPP restructured these states, it confirmed that Kano State’s executive committee remains intact and well-prepared for upcoming local council elections, with strong leadership in place.

In a separate development, the NNPP criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the sharp rise in petrol prices, which recently climbed to N1,000 per liter. The NNPP condemned the government’s handling of the economy, labeling the current administration as “grossly incompetent” and warning that the price increase would worsen inflation and push more Nigerians into poverty.
