President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again assured Nigerians that his administration is actively working to alleviate the difficulties caused by the removal of fuel subsidies and is committed to closing the gap these measures have created. In a video message posted on the official social media channels of the presidency, Tinubu urged Nigerians to look beyond the current challenges and maintain faith in his government’s ability to fulfil its promises.

Acknowledging the temporary hardships brought on by subsidy removal, Tinubu expressed optimism that the nation would soon emerge from its current difficulties and enter a new era of prosperity. He emphasized that his administration is taking steps to address the economic gap and ensure a brighter future for the country.

“Fellow Nigerians, this period may be hard on us and there’s no doubt that it’s tough on us, but I urge you all to look beyond the present temporary pains and aim at the larger picture,” Tinubu stated in the video. “All our good and helpful plans are in the works, more importantly, I know that they will work. Sadly, there was an unavoidable lag between subsidy removal and these plans coming fully online, however, we are swiftly closing the time gap.”

Tinubu highlighted his administration’s commitment to making education more affordable, including the provision of loans for higher education students in need. He assured Nigerians that no student would have to abandon their education due to financial constraints.

“Our commitment is to promote the greatest good for the greatest number of our people. On principle, we shall never falter. I assure you, my fellow countrymen and women, that we are exiting the darkness to enter a new and glorious dawn,” Tinubu added.

The president’s message comes amid ongoing protests and widespread criticism of his administration’s policies, with many Nigerians calling for urgent action to address the country’s economic and social challenges. In a nationwide broadcast on Sunday, Tinubu had appealed for calm, urging Nigerians to allow the benefits of the reforms to take root for the betterment of all citizens.

The president concluded by reaffirming his dedication to the nation’s progress: “Now, I must get back to work in order to make this vision come true.”
