Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, convened a crucial meeting in Abuja with prominent figures including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido. The gathering aimed to explore avenues for alleviating the hardships faced by all Nigerians, regardless of their socio-economic status or geographical location.

According to a statement by Yunusa Tanko, Chief Spokesman of the DattiAhmed/PeterObi Presidency, the meeting was prompted by Obi’s deep concern for the nation’s current state and the escalating challenges confronting the poor and marginalized segments of society. Tanko emphasized Obi’s unwavering commitment to fostering peace and progress in Nigeria, with a steadfast dedication to building a nation that caters to the needs of all its citizens and uplifts them out of poverty.

During the meeting, discussions centered on the dire conditions faced by the less privileged, particularly in the northern regions of the country. Obi underscored the urgency of addressing these pressing issues and sought collaborative solutions from the gathered leaders.

The engagement reflects Obi’s proactive approach to national development and his readiness to collaborate with stakeholders across political divides to tackle socio-economic challenges and foster inclusive growth.
