Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), administered the oath of office to a six-man committee comprising governors from various geopolitical zones on Wednesday. This move aims to streamline the party’s activities across the country.

The committee, consisting of six APC governors, includes Hope Uzodimma (Imo State), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Bassey Otu (Cross River), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Uba Sani (Kaduna), and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe).

Following the oath-taking ceremony, Ganduje announced that these governors are tasked with coordinating party affairs within their respective zones. They are mandated to engage in periodic interactions with other members of the Progressive Governor’s Forum (PGF) and the APC leadership.

Each governor has been assigned a specific geopolitical region to oversee. Sanwo-Olu will coordinate activities in the South-West, Uzodimma in the South-East, Otu in the South-South, and AbdulRazaq, Sani, and Buni will oversee affairs in the North-Central, North-West, and North-East regions, respectively.

Ganduje emphasized the importance of mobilizing support and disseminating information about the government’s initiatives. He urged the newly appointed coordinators to collaborate with other governors within their zones to enhance party unity and progress.

In response, Uzodimma expressed confidence in fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to them, pledging to work diligently for the party’s advancement.

“We are honored to be entrusted with this assignment,” Uzodimma stated. “We are committed to meeting the expectations placed upon us by coordinating effectively within our zones and ensuring inclusive participation at all levels of the party.”

He reiterated the significance of the party’s unity and the role of the Progressive Governors Forum in supporting the government’s agenda and promoting inclusive governance.

The inauguration of these coordinators signifies a strategic move by the APC to strengthen party structures and enhance grassroots engagement, underscoring the party’s commitment to effective governance and unity.
