President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive for the prompt review of the severance package for retired police officers, aiming to recognize and honor their significant contributions to national development. This announcement was made during the formal launch of the Nigeria Police Force Veterans’ Foundation at the headquarters of the Police Service Commission in Jabi, Abuja.
In his address at the event, President Tinubu expressed his commitment to signing an executive order establishing a ‘National Police and Veterans’ Day’. Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Solomon Arase, echoed President Tinubu’s sentiments, describing retired police officers as national heroes. He emphasized their role in upholding professionalism and sacrificing their lives for the country’s peace and stability.
