In a Presidential Security Briefing at the State House, Abuja, President Bola Tinubu charged the nation’s security chiefs to ensure a conclusive victory over the various security threats facing the country. While acknowledging progress in eliminating security threats, the President emphasized the need for a final resolution to the multi-dimensional menace.

President Tinubu highlighted the importance of investments in soft and physical infrastructure, social security, and MSME empowerment for the nation’s growth. He emphasized the pursuit of a $1 trillion economy in the next few years, urging the security chiefs to conclude the progressive onslaught against enemies of progress. The President commended the successes but expressed concerns over recent avoidable errors, emphasizing the need to bring troops back to their localities and allocate resources for economic expansion.

The armed forces were tasked with delivering on the objective of achieving a sustainable production of two million barrels of crude oil per day, including condensates, by the first quarter of 2024. President Tinubu warned against failure, stating, “Your task is clear. We will sustain our momentum. Failure is not an option under my leadership.”

The President also commended the dedication and commitment of the Commander of the Presidential Air fleet (PAF), the Commander of the Brigade of Guards (BoG), and his Chief Personal Security Officer (CPSO). The officers were decorated and promoted in recognition of their loyalty and dedication to duty. The President expressed his hope for continued recognition of their service to the nation.

Speaking on behalf of the officers, Air Vice Marshal Olayinka Olusola Oyesola expressed gratitude for the promotion and the privilege to serve the nation. He assured the President of their continued loyalty and commitment to duty.

The event was attended by top officials, including the Chief of Air Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Inspector General of Police, National Security Adviser, Minister of State for Defence, and other presidential aides.

President Tinubu reiterated the need for coordinated efforts to address security challenges, ensure economic growth, and maintain the nation’s momentum towards achieving its goals.
