Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife Dies At 85

Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, the first Executive Governor of Anambra State, has passed away at the age of 85. According to a press statement from his family, Ezeife died on Thursday around 6 pm at a hospital in Abuja.

He served as governor of Anambra from 1992 to November 1993, holding the position until the military regime of Sani Abacha took over.

In the fourth republic starting in 1999, he was named special adviser on political affairs by President Olusegun Obasanjo. Ezeife was also a former Federal Permanent Secretary and a presidential aspirant.
