How Nigerian Army Drone Bombed Wrongly Identified Villagers as Terrorists.

The Kaduna State Government has attributed the bomb explosion in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area, to a mistake by a Nigerian Army drone that wrongly identified villagers as terrorists. The government assures compensation for the victims.

In a meeting led by the Deputy Governor of Kaduna, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, attended by security, religious, and traditional leaders, the Nigerian Army explained that the unintended attack occurred during a routine mission against terrorists. Major VU Okoro, the General Officer Commanding One Division Nigerian Army, provided details at the meeting.

The government extended condolences to affected families and initiated search and rescue operations. Dozens of injured victims were evacuated to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, and compensation discussions with the victims’ families are ongoing.

Initial reports incorrectly implicated a Nigeria Air Force aircraft, but the NAF clarified its non-involvement in the incident. The tragic event occurred during a Maulud commemoration in the village, resulting in around 30 casualties.
