Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has encouraged Nigeria’s younger generation to be “positively disruptive” to gain political power but emphasized the importance of avoiding violence.

He urged the youth to run for elections and not dismiss the opportunity due to age, suggesting that if they don’t act now, they may never get the chance. Obasanjo advised them to challenge the status quo and make the uncomfortable uncomfortable through non-violent means.

Speaking at an inter-generational dialogue and emerging political leaders fellowship, he highlighted the need for leaders to possess knowledge, fear of God, honesty, integrity, and values.

Additionally, he defended the efforts of his generation in fighting for Nigeria’s unity and laying the foundation for democracy.
