Reinstated Kano State Anti-Corruption Commission Scribe Goes after Ex-Gov. Ganduje

Barrister Muhuyi Magajin Rimin-Gado, the reinstated chairman of the Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission, has expressed his intention to reopen the investigation into the controversial videos that allegedly showed former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje collecting kickbacks from contractors. The videos were released by Daily Nigerian in 2018.

Former Governor Ganduje had denied the allegations, claiming that the videos were doctored. However, Rimin-Gado, who was previously removed from his position by Ganduje but reinstated by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, stated that the investigation is necessary.

Rimin-Gado explained that during his previous tenure, there were limitations to the investigation due to Ganduje’s status as the incumbent governor, who enjoyed immunity from prosecution. However, with Ganduje no longer in office, the commission can now take appropriate action.

In addition, Rimin-Gado addressed other topics during the interview, including denying allegations that he was involved in the removal of Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi as Emir and defending certain policies of the current governor.
