Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has revealed that the G5, also known as the Integrity Group, recently visited President Bola Tinubu to update him on the latest developments and their stance on fairness, equity, and justice in the country. Makinde, accompanied by the four other members of the group who are former governors, acknowledged the challenges of nation-building and emphasized the need for constant evaluation.

The G5 intends to continue engaging with the President to discuss the way forward for the country. This marks the third time in the past week that Makinde and members of the group have met with the President.

During the meeting, Makinde, along with former Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), and the current Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, conveyed their commitment to fairness, justice, and equity.

The G5 is a group of dissatisfied politicians within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who expressed their opposition to the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the PDP presidential candidate in the last elections. They also support the return of power to Southern Nigeria.
