Bola Tinubu Sworn-in as Nigeria’s President

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was sworn in as the sixteenth president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria just now.

Tinubu succeeds former All-Progressive Congress President Muhammadu Buhari as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

He vowed not to allow his personal interests to interfere with his administration of the nation.
Monday’s swearing-in/oath-taking took place in Eagles Square, Abuja, as part of the ongoing inauguration ceremony.
Kashim Shettima took the oath of office as his vice president.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Tinubu the President-elect after he won the presidential election on February 25.
The oath of office was administered by Olukayode Ariwoola, the Chief Justice of Nigeria. President Tinubu took his Oath of Allegiance at 10:37 a.m., following Vice-President Kashim Shettima, who took his at the Eagle’s Square in Abuja at 10:30 a.m.

On February 25, 2023, Bola Tinubu of the All-Progressive Congress (APC) won the presidency with 8,739,249 votes, garnering him victory in the election.
