The Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, has been selected to take the reins as the next Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum (NGF).

In the general election held in February 2023, Yahaya, who had previously been elected governor of the state in 2019, was successful in winning re-election to a second term in office.

He will take over as chairman of the forum from Simon Lalong, who is stepping down after serving in that role for a number of years and is also the governor of Plateau State.

In 2019, Lalong was selected to serve as the forum’s chairman.
