How “Duplication Offence” Resulted in Peter Obi’s Detention are Heathrow Airport

Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, was purportedly detained at Heathrow Airport, London, on Good Friday, April 7, on suspicion of self-impersonation.

Obi-Datti Media team stated in a statement that Obi arrived at Heathrow Airport in London from Nigeria on Good Friday, April 7, 2023, and joined the queue for the required Airport protocols when he was approached by an immigration official who handed him a detention note and instructed him to step aside.

According to the statement, he was questioned for an extended period of time, which was very strange for a man who had resided in the country for over a decade.

According to the report, the ex-governor of Anambra State was questioned for a “duplication offence,” which means that someone has been impersonating him in London.

In addition, the statement disclosed that, like the features of other Obidients, the face of the LP’s presidential candidate was already an “international frame for Nigerians, Africans at home, and Africans in the Diaspora who are likely to be Obidients.”

According to the statement, the ordeal did not last long because immigration officials were surprised by the spontaneous reaction of Nigerians at the airport.

It read: “The elevated implication of the offence is that the impersonator could be committing serious crimes and other questionable acts while using Obi’s identity.

“Since the impersonator is still at large, it is inconceivable that Obi could be implicated in a series of illegal acts and even be framed in a way that would be a huge embarrassment for him, his family, his party, the Obedient Movement, and indeed Nigeria, where he is currently and unquestionably the conscience of the people.

“Obi-Datti Media office recalls that our principal has been under a variety of attacks since the February 25th, 2023 Presidential election, in which he placed third out of 18 contestants as the Labour Party’s candidate, despite the fact that his supporters and many other election watchers, including international observers, believe very strongly that he won the election but was cheated out of the victory.

“Since he agreed to go to court if he felt strongly about the election, which all international observers agreed was flawed and full of flaws, he has been subjected to severe assaults from all sides.

“Even the Federal Government, which ordered him to appear in court, dispatched Information Minister Lai Mohammad to the United States in an attempt to de-market him and accuse him of treason.

“Obi’s telephone line was also monitored at a time when they may have been searching for information to portray him negatively in front of a portion of the country that had voted for him overwhelmingly.

“They attempted to persuade him to leave the country and take a break because they were not achieving their goal of tarnishing his reputation and possibly placing his traducers under a harsher burden of guilt.

It is also conceivable that those urging him to leave the country planted the impersonators to tarnish the Eagle’s impeccable reputation.

“The Obi-Datti Media office would like to reassure all persons of goodwill, particularly the Obidients, that the Rock is not deterred, as he is willing to endure the agony and is even more determined to pursue the path his creator envisioned for him in Nigeria.

“Finally, let it be known that in the face of a flurry of unwarranted attacks and cogs being placed in the wheel of rescuing our dear country, Obi strongly believes that a new Nigeria is possible where the people will be able to live in a secure and productive country that they will all be proud to call their own”
