Mbadinuju, who served as governor of Anambra State from 1999 to 2003, passed away on Tuesday morning.
In a statement signed by his son, Cheta Chinwoke Mbadinuju, the deceased’s family announced his passing.
Cheta stated that the former governor passed away after a brief illness at the “National Hospital Abuja.”
“Notification of the Transition of DR Chinwoke Mbadinuju (ODERA)” is the title of this document.
It reads, “With sorrowful hearts but utmost gratitude to God for a life well lived, we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and associate, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, former governor of Anambra State and senior statesman.
“ODERA, as he was affectionately known, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2023 at the National Hospital in Abuja after a brief illness, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
“During this difficult time, we pray for God’s grace and mercy upon him and those who lament his passing. The family will disclose his funeral arrangements as soon as possible.”
