As Uncertainty Looms, Tinubu Continues to Campaign, As He Promises to Build a Nigeria Of Our Dreams

Bola Tinubu, the next president of Nigeria, has pledged to reconstruct the country and restore the “hope of the Nigerian people.”

In a message to Nigerians on his 71st birthday on Wednesday, Tinubu described the opportunity to lead the country as the finest present he has ever received.

In February, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the former governor of Lagos to be the victor of the presidential election, after he received 8,794,500 votes.

Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received 6,984,520 votes, followed by Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), who received 6,101,533 votes.

The president-elect stated that his pledges were more than just words to win over the populace; they were a bond with them.

“With such a luxury previously bestowed upon me, I will not argue I am entitled to birthday gifts this year. “The greatest present has already been given to me,” he stated.

“An opportunity to lead and realise destinies. An opportunity to champion your dreams and create the Nigeria of your imagination.

“Instead, I will use this day to reaffirm my commitment to the big and essential mission of rebuilding our nation and restoring the Nigerian people’s hope. I vigorously campaigned and made crucial pledges.

“These promises were not simple words; they were not professed glibly or cynically to gain support. They represent a tie that binds me to the task of creating a better Nigeria for the benefit of every Nigerian, regardless of whether or not you voted for me.”
