The National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) Renewal Group has advised opposition groups fighting against Senator Bola Tinubu’s proclamation as President-elect to abandon any hope of overturning his victory.
In a statement released on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti, the organization hailed Tinubu’s election as president-elect as the best thing to happen to Nigeria in recent memory.
Prof. Atilade Adeeyo, the party’s national leader, characterized the attempt by the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to overturn Tinubu’s victory through the tribunal as futile.
He stated that the efforts of the two runners-up in the February 25 presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi of the LP and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, to challenge Tinubu’s victory would not be fruitful.
He counseled them to accept defeat with dignity so that the nation may advance.
Adeeyo characterized Tinubu as a strategic and patriotic leader whose powerful political structure spanned all six geopolitical zones of the country.
He stated that Tinubu won the election in part because “all Nigerians adore him as a lovely bride.”
Senator-elect Tinubu has a distinguished track record as a patriotic leader.
“During his tenure as governor of Lagos State, he exhibited this rare leadership quality.
“He utilized the competency and enduring capacities of a pan-Nigeria cabinet in his government to achieve tremendous advances in Lagos State, and we are all witnesses to the state’s incredible success,” he said.
Adeeyo stated that the majority of patriotic Nigerians admire Tinubu because he is a builder of mankind and not a destroyer.
This is why Nigerians will enjoy the highest quality of administration under his presidency.
As Tinubu ascends to power, we can also reassure our many young people that their hopes for a brighter future will be met.
“We are standing up for our country, and Nigeria will once again be productive. The families of those who died following the annulment of the presidential election in 1993 will wish that the annulment had never occurred.
Adeeyo emphasized, “I speak on behalf of thousands of NADECO Renewal Group members when I encourage Nigerians to allow peace to prevail so that we can enjoy the fresh hope promised by the president-elect.”
