Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka has denounced a social media assertion tying him to the endorsement of All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu ahead of Saturday’s presidential election.

The social media post also criticizes former Nigerian president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and People’s Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

The statement stated that Soyinka added, “Quote me anywhere: Nigerians do not need leaders like Atiku and Obasanjo again.” We have examined both candidates and have determined that Atiku is crooked and Obasanjo is a liar. They are both greedy and self-centered….

“Anyone, including any cabal or Viju milk activist, who attempts to embarrass Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will have to battle with me.”

“A typical PDP member is unhappy with Asiwaju for bringing them to their knees. If someone believes that bringing down Asiwaju is his job, not only would that aim fail, but it will also backfire.”

In response to the article, Soyinka’s media representative issued a statement on Sunday stating, “Professor Soyinka has NEVER issued such a statement.”

“It is the work of liars and purveyors of fake news, who benefit from misinformation to achieve political advantage.

“The media and the general public are warned to disregard the message and any other political messages that target or address any political party or political player.”
