We are in Negotiations with Peter Obi and Kwankwaso, One of Them May be Joining us -Atiku Abubakar

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has hinted that he will meet with Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP), in order to garner their support in the upcoming election.

Tuesday, Atiku disclosed this information in a 15-minute interview with the BBC Hausa program.

Atiku told the interviewer in Hausa that neither Obi nor Kwankwaso pose a threat to his prospects of winning the February 25 election.

“Although I do not perceive any of them as a threat, we are now in negotiations, which may yield a positive outcome that will result in one of them joining us.”

During a question-and-answer session regarding the ongoing PDP problem, Atiku stated that every party has its own internal crises, and theirs will not be an exception, but that they intend to resolve every disagreement in the near future.

“Each party has its own internal crisis, and we continue to negotiate with them. The majority do not belong to the PDP or any other party, and it will not lead us to lose the election because our election preparations are currently satisfactory.

“Elections today are in the hands of the citizens, unlike in the past when governors determined who to vote for,” he continued.
