At least three people have been killed and one injured in a renewed attack in Plateau State, highlighting growing insecurity in the region. The incident occurred on Friday evening in Jos South Local Government Area, leaving residents alarmed and calling for urgent government intervention.<\/p>\n
The attack took place in Nyamgo Gyel, a community in Jos South, where the victims were reportedly ambushed around 7 p.m. while returning from Gero on a motorcycle.<\/p>\n
The deceased were identified as Luka Sandu Pam (36), Samuel Davou (38), and Deme Saidu (35). Eyewitnesses said they were part of a group of about 15 \u10d0\u10ee\u10d0\u10da\u10d2\u10d0\u10d6\u10e0\u10d3 returning from a mining site when they encountered gunmen.<\/p>\n

The Chairman of the Berom Youth Moulder Association, Solomon Dalyop, described the killings as a troubling sign of worsening insecurity across Plateau State.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the scene, he lamented that the victims had gone out to mark the religious holiday and were attacked on their way back.<\/p>\n
Dalyop also revealed that community leaders had recently met with members of the Fulani community at a Nigerian Army formation in Jos South to discuss concerns over suspicious movements in the area.<\/p>\n
He warned that armed groups may be expanding their presence in surrounding bushes, raising fears of further violence if decisive action is not taken.<\/p>\n
Calls for Increased Security Presence<\/h3>\n
Residents have criticised what they describe as inadequate security deployment, noting that only police operatives responded after the \u043d\u0430\u043f\u0430\u0434\u0435\u043d\u0438\u0435. The injured survivor was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
