{"id":8617,"date":"2026-01-01T14:13:27","date_gmt":"2026-01-01T14:13:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shakamomodu.com\/?p=8617"},"modified":"2026-01-01T14:13:27","modified_gmt":"2026-01-01T14:13:27","slug":"federal-government-ends-paper-based-bureaucracy-across-38-mdas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shakamomodu.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/01\/federal-government-ends-paper-based-bureaucracy-across-38-mdas\/","title":{"rendered":"Federal Government Ends Paper-Based Bureaucracy Across 38 MDAs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"226\" data-end=\"461\">The <strong data-start=\"230\" data-end=\"252\">Federal Government<\/strong> has officially ended the use of paper-based bureaucracy across key government offices and <strong data-start=\"343\" data-end=\"393\">38 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)<\/strong>, transitioning fully to a digital, paperless system from Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"463\" data-end=\"783\">The announcement was made by the <strong data-start=\"496\" data-end=\"573\">Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack<\/strong>, who confirmed the successful completion of presidential and administrative directives mandating all participating MDAs and extra-ministerial departments to operate entirely paperless by <strong data-start=\"761\" data-end=\"782\">December 30, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"785\" data-end=\"829\">MDAs to Stop Accepting Paper Submissions<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"1184\">Under the new policy, the <strong data-start=\"857\" data-end=\"872\">State House<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"874\" data-end=\"937\">Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"939\" data-end=\"1000\">Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1002\" data-end=\"1038\">Federal Civil Service Commission<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1040\" data-end=\"1094\">Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1117\">33 other MDAs<\/strong> will no longer accept paper documents through physical registries.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1186\" data-end=\"1525\">All official correspondence must now be submitted electronically via designated registry email addresses, which are published on the <strong data-start=\"1319\" data-end=\"1380\">Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation<\/strong> website. Citizens have also been encouraged to monitor the progress of their submissions through the <strong data-start=\"1482\" data-end=\"1524\">Federal Civil Service Paperless Portal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1527\" data-end=\"1580\">Faster, Transparent and More Efficient Governance<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1582\" data-end=\"1810\">Explaining the policy, Walson-Jack said the transition eliminates the need for physical letters and envelopes, noting that scanned documents sent via email with relevant attachments are now sufficient for official communication.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1812\" data-end=\"2003\">She said the paperless system will improve service delivery by eliminating missing or misplaced files, speeding up response times, and creating clearer audit trails across government offices.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2005\" data-end=\"2140\">According to her, the reform will make government services more accessible, transparent, and reliable for both citizens and businesses.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2142\" data-end=\"2193\">Secure Digital Communication for Civil Servants<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2195\" data-end=\"2387\">The Head of Service further disclosed that official government email addresses have been created for all civil servants to ensure secure, professional, and auditable communication across MDAs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2389\" data-end=\"2574\">She noted that the initiative strengthens government control over official correspondence, improves inter-agency responsiveness, and reduces reliance on informal communication channels.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2576\" data-end=\"2692\">The paperless reform marks a significant milestone in Nigeria\u2019s ongoing public sector digital transformation agenda.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Government has officially ended the use of paper-based bureaucracy across key government offices and 38 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), transitioning fully to a digital, paperless system from Wednesday.
