{"id":8520,"date":"2025-11-11T06:54:42","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T06:54:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shakamomodu.com\/?p=8520"},"modified":"2025-11-11T06:54:42","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T06:54:42","slug":"efcc-declares-former-minister-timipre-sylva-wanted-over-alleged-14-8-million-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shakamomodu.com\/index.php\/2025\/11\/11\/efcc-declares-former-minister-timipre-sylva-wanted-over-alleged-14-8-million-fraud\/","title":{"rendered":"EFCC Declares Former Minister Timipre Sylva Wanted Over Alleged $14.8 Million Fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"330\" data-end=\"596\">The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially declared former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and ex-Governor of Bayelsa State, <strong data-start=\"489\" data-end=\"506\">Timipre Sylva<\/strong>, wanted over allegations of financial misconduct involving more than <strong data-start=\"576\" data-end=\"593\">$14.8 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"598\" data-end=\"1011\">In a statement shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday evening, the anti-graft agency revealed that Sylva is under investigation for an alleged <strong data-start=\"764\" data-end=\"803\">conspiracy and dishonest conversion<\/strong> of <strong data-start=\"807\" data-end=\"822\">$14,859,257<\/strong>\u2014funds reportedly invested by the <strong data-start=\"856\" data-end=\"917\">Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB)<\/strong> in <strong data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"982\">Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited<\/strong> for refinery construction.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1013\" data-end=\"1364\">According to the EFCC, a <strong data-start=\"1038\" data-end=\"1069\">Federal High Court in Lagos<\/strong>, presided over by <strong data-start=\"1088\" data-end=\"1112\">Justice D.I. Dipeolu<\/strong>, granted a <strong data-start=\"1124\" data-end=\"1154\">warrant for Sylva\u2019s arrest<\/strong> on <strong data-start=\"1158\" data-end=\"1178\">November 6, 2025<\/strong>.
