Minister of Works, David Umahi, has assured that the South-East will firmly support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, dismissing the political relevance of Peter Obi and his OBIdient Movement in the region.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the Ohanivo 2025 New Yam Festival in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Umahi said Tinubu has restored the region\u2019s sense of belonging through his policies and recognition of the South-East.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is no single Obidient supporter in Ebonyi State again. We will not be deceived because the last election was a mistake. We will support Tinubu in 2027,\u201d Umahi declared.<\/p>\n
The minister noted that the people of Ebonyi and the wider South-East had grown politically wiser since the 2023 elections and would not repeat what he described as \u201cpast errors.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOur duty is to record all the good things the President has done for the South-East and Ebonyi State. We have learnt and grown wiser,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Umahi stressed that years of marginalisation had ended with Tinubu\u2019s administration, which he said had restored confidence in the region.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not OBIdient people. We want to be treated fairly, and the President is doing that. So we have no reason not to support him,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
