The United States Department of State<\/strong> has updated its non-immigrant visa policy<\/strong> for Nigerian citizens, announcing that most visas<\/strong> will now be issued as single-entry with a three-month validity<\/strong> period.<\/p>\n

In a press release from the US Embassy in Abuja<\/strong> on Tuesday, the new rule was described as part of Washington\u2019s global visa reciprocity process<\/strong>, which aims to align visa terms with those granted to US citizens by other countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost non-immigrant and non-diplomatic visas issued to citizens of Nigeria will be single-entry visas with a three-month validity period,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The change takes immediate effect<\/strong>, though the embassy clarified that any US visas issued before July 8, 2025<\/strong>, will retain their original status and validity.<\/strong><\/p>\n
