This move, seen as a political masterstroke, is reshaping internal party dynamics ahead of the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"1090\">Despite a Sunday night meeting of PDP governors aimed at mending internal rifts, Anyanwu\u2014backed by a <strong data-start=\"772\" data-end=\"807\">March 21 Supreme Court judgment<\/strong>\u2014submitted PDP&#8217;s candidate list for the Anambra governorship election to the <strong data-start=\"884\" data-end=\"936\">Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)<\/strong> on Monday. INEC had earlier declared it would only accept correspondence signed by the legitimate National Secretary, reaffirming Anyanwu\u2019s pivotal role.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1092\" data-end=\"1257\">The letter, dated <strong data-start=\"1110\" data-end=\"1125\">May 7, 2025<\/strong>, confirmed <strong data-start=\"1137\" data-end=\"1158\">Ezenwafor Jude C.<\/strong> as PDP\u2019s governorship candidate for Anambra, with <strong data-start=\"1209\" data-end=\"1240\">Hon. Okene Francis Chukwudi<\/strong> as running mate.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"1259\" data-end=\"1314\"><strong data-start=\"1263\" data-end=\"1314\">Wike\u2019s Strategic Advantage and Influence in PDP<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1316\" data-end=\"1713\">Wike\u2019s influence is now seen as central to PDP\u2019s decision-making machinery. With allies holding the positions of <strong data-start=\"1429\" data-end=\"1457\">acting National Chairman<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1462\" data-end=\"1484\">National Secretary<\/strong>, and considerable support within the <strong data-start=\"1522\" data-end=\"1558\">National Working Committee (NWC)<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1563\" data-end=\"1590\">Board of Trustees (BoT)<\/strong>, Wike is poised to influence crucial pre-election decisions, including the zoning of the party\u2019s 2027 presidential ticket.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1715\" data-end=\"1830\">Speaking to journalists on Monday, the former Rivers State governor rejected claims he was destabilizing the PDP.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1831\" data-end=\"1987\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1833\" data-end=\"1987\">\u201cTearing the party? No. I\u2019m rebuilding it. Our constitution is clear: only the National Chairman or Secretary can sign INEC-bound documents,\u201d Wike stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1989\" data-end=\"2121\">He warned that any <strong data-start=\"2008\" data-end=\"2046\">National Executive Committee (NEC)<\/strong> meeting not convened by recognized officers would face legal challenges:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2122\" data-end=\"2284\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2124\" data-end=\"2284\">\u201cOnly the National Secretary can issue a valid NEC notice. If someone else signs, I\u2019ll challenge it in court. That\u2019s not a threat\u2014it\u2019s Supreme Court precedent.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"2286\" data-end=\"2350\"><strong data-start=\"2290\" data-end=\"2350\">Saraki Leads Strategy Committee Ahead of May NEC Meeting<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2352\" data-end=\"2744\">To calm tensions and prepare for the May 27 NEC meeting, PDP governors and stakeholders established a <strong data-start=\"2454\" data-end=\"2489\">seven-member strategy committee<\/strong> led by <strong data-start=\"2497\" data-end=\"2522\">Senator Bukola Saraki<\/strong>. The committee includes sitting governors <strong data-start=\"2565\" data-end=\"2590\">Dauda Lawal (Zamfara)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2592\" data-end=\"2620\">Caleb Muftwang (Plateau)<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"2626\" data-end=\"2648\">Peter Mbah (Enugu)<\/strong>, alongside former governors <strong data-start=\"2677\" data-end=\"2696\">Seriake Dickson<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2698\" data-end=\"2719\">Ibrahim Dankwambo<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"2725\" data-end=\"2743\">Okezie Ikpeazu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2746\" data-end=\"2802\">Saraki clarified the committee\u2019s role on social media:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2803\" data-end=\"2929\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2805\" data-end=\"2929\">\u201cWe had a fruitful meeting&#8230; The committee will chart a way forward and ensure a rancour-free NEC and national convention.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"2931\" data-end=\"2992\"><strong data-start=\"2935\" data-end=\"2992\">BoT Inaugurates 39 New Members, Reaffirms Party Unity<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2994\" data-end=\"3203\">The <strong data-start=\"2998\" data-end=\"3025\">Board of Trustees (BoT)<\/strong>, known as the &#8220;conscience of the party,&#8221; inaugurated <strong data-start=\"3079\" data-end=\"3097\">39 new members<\/strong> on Monday. BoT Chairman <strong data-start=\"3122\" data-end=\"3149\">Senator Adolphus Wabara<\/strong> reassured members of PDP\u2019s survival and resilience:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"3204\" data-end=\"3330\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3206\" data-end=\"3330\">\u201cThe God of PDP never sleeps.
