Port Harcourt, Nigeria<\/strong> \u2013 Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has cautioned his supporters against inflammatory actions and rhetoric, urging them to align with his non-confrontational approach to resolving the state\u2019s prolonged political crisis.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Sunday during a Night of Tributes<\/strong> organized by the Rivers Elders and Leaders Forum in honour of the late elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, Fubara stressed the importance of restraint, reconciliation, and peace.<\/p>\n

The event was held at the Royal House of Grace Church in Port Harcourt.<\/p>\n

Fubara Calls for Calm, Reflects on Leadership Responsibility<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Fubara criticized some of his supporters for making comments and taking actions that contradict his principles of lawful and strategic conflict resolution.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes I wonder if they ask themselves whether the path they are taking is truly one of peace and stability,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He reiterated his commitment to restoring calm in the state and underscored that leadership requires measured, legal actions\u2014not emotional reactions.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cAs a leader, I understand the weight of responsibility. I\u2019m doing what must be done within the law to move our state forward,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Fubara said he now enjoys peace of mind and better health, attributing this to his decision to stay focused and draw inspiration from leaders like the late Chief Edwin Clark.<\/p>\n

A Call to Honor Chief Edwin Clark\u2019s Legacy<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Paying tribute to the late Niger Delta icon, Fubara emphasized Clark\u2019s unwavering dedication to peace, justice, and unity. He criticized some speakers at the event for veering off topic and urged attendees to focus on the legacy and values of the deceased.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cChief Clark lived a life of sacrifice and commitment to truth, fairness, and the common good. That should guide us,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Clergy and Political Leaders Urged to Seek Reconciliation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Delivering the sermon, Apostle Zilly Aggrey called on political actors in the state to mend fences and avoid deepening the divide.<\/p>\n

He commended former governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for supporting Fubara\u2019s election and encouraged him to also work toward peace and reconciliation.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cOnly a people united in spirit and purpose can overcome internal and external threats,\u201d Apostle Aggrey said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
