Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has announced it will refund customers who purchase Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at rates higher than the newly reduced prices from its key partners \u2013 Ardova Plc (AP), Heyden, or MRS \u2013 across Nigeria.<\/p>\n
This move follows the refinery’s recent reduction of its gantry price from N890 per litre to N825 per litre, a change aimed at benefiting Nigerians and supporting the nation\u2019s economic growth in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.<\/p>\n
The refinery confirmed that it will refund N65 per litre on the over 200,000 metric tonnes of PMS purchased by marketers at the old price of N890 per litre. The initiative, which took effect from February 27, 2025, also sees Dangote Refinery absorbing a loss of N16 billion in the process, ensuring that Nigerians can enjoy cheaper fuel without any financial burden falling on marketers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe step guarantees that none of our valued business partners will experience a loss due to the price change,\u201d the refinery stated in a recent press release. \u201cMore importantly, it ensures that the new, lower rate takes immediate effect nationwide for the benefit of the Nigerian people.\u201d<\/p>\n
The price reduction initiative extends beyond MRS Holdings, Ardova Plc (AP), and Heyden, with Dangote urging other marketers sourcing from the refinery to pass on the benefits of the new pricing to consumers at the retail level. The refinery further emphasized the need for collective efforts to provide affordable and quality products for Nigerians.<\/p>\n
Dangote also condemned the practice of profiteering from the new pricing structure, describing it as \u201cunpatriotic\u201d and \u201cdetrimental\u201d to the welfare of Nigerians. The statement warned against any party purchasing PMS at the new rate of N825 per litre and selling it at inflated prices, such as N945 per litre, as this would be an act of excessive profiteering, which further burdens the Nigerian people.<\/p>\n
Consumers who purchase fuel above the advertised rates from any of Dangote’s partners \u2013 AP (Ardova Plc), Heyden, or MRS \u2013 are encouraged to report to the refinery with their receipts to receive a full refund for the excess amount.<\/p>\n

With the new gantry price of N825 per litre, Dangote Refinery assures that no Nigerian will pay more than N900 per litre for PMS, regardless of location or petrol station.<\/p>\n
