Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar<\/strong> has submitted a formal request to the National Assembly<\/strong> for a constitutional amendment that would establish a six-year single term<\/strong> for both the President and Governors. In a memorandum addressed to the Senate Committee on Constitutional Review<\/strong>, Atiku also advocated for the rotation of the presidency between the North and South to promote inclusivity and national unity.<\/p>\n

          “He is a member of a political party whose name is in the register to be made available by his political party to INEC,” he stated.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n

          • The former vice-president also suggested a modification to Section 285(14)(a)<\/strong>, replacing the term “aspirant” with “voter” in matters of electoral disputes and candidate substitutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
