However, he acknowledged that much more needs to be done, urging the board to focus on sectors such as <strong>agriculture, manufacturing, production<\/strong>, and <strong>wealth creation<\/strong>, to drive the state&#8217;s economic transformation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRivers State has the resources\u2014oil, gas, and a growing IGR\u2014but we need strategic leadership to harness these blessings. The Investment Promotion Agency is critical in restoring Rivers to its rightful place,\u201d Fubara said.<\/p>\n<p>He also assured the board of his administration\u2019s full support, encouraging them to help the state attract back investors who had left in previous years due to various challenges.<\/p>\n<h3>Revitalizing Key Economic Zones<\/h3>\n<p>Governor Fubara cited specific areas, including <strong>Trans Amadi<\/strong> and the <strong>Onne<\/strong> gas hub, as potential zones for economic revitalization. He called for proactive measures to rebuild these areas into thriving business hubs, noting that Rivers State has the resources and infrastructure necessary for sustainable growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to work towards making <strong>Trans Amadi<\/strong> the business hub it used to be and further develop the <strong>Onne gas hub<\/strong> as part of our campaign promises,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<h3>New Leadership to Drive Change<\/h3>\n<p>The newly inaugurated board of the Rivers State Investment Promotion Agency includes <strong>Lawrence Fubara Anga (Chairman)<\/strong>, <strong>Dr. Chamberlain Peterside (Director General)<\/strong>, <strong>Tamunoibuemi Life-George (Secretary)<\/strong>, and board members <strong>Goodliffe Mmekini<\/strong>, <strong>Harvey Ideozu<\/strong>, and <strong>Baritorlenu Kpagih<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, Anga expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the agency and affirmed the board\u2019s commitment to supporting Governor Fubara\u2019s vision for economic transformation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether with the Governor\u2019s leadership and support from all stakeholders, we are confident in our ability to fulfill our mandate and help Rivers State reclaim its position as an economic powerhouse,\u201d Anga said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has attributed the decline in the state\u2019s economic growth to previous mismanagement but assured residents that his administration is committed to restoring Rivers to its former status as a thriving and economically vibrant state.
