ABUJA, Nigeria – Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has recorded unmatched achievements in just two years—surpassing all previous democratic governments in the country’s history.
Speaking at the inaugural National Dialogue on Citizen Engagement and National Security held Tuesday in Abuja, Idris hailed the administration’s bold reforms and rapid policy execution. The event, themed “One Voice, One Vision: Uniting Perspectives for a Stronger Nigeria,” brought together stakeholders from across government, civil society, and the media.
“No preceding government has ever achieved what the Tinubu administration has achieved in two years,” Idris asserted. “From abolishing the oil subsidy and forex manipulation to rolling out a student loan scheme and launching CreditCorp—these are monumental strides. We are witnessing renewed confidence, especially among the youth.”
He also praised the administration’s focus on infrastructure, national development, and policy transparency. According to him, landmark initiatives such as the creation of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development and support for local government autonomy are already showing impact.
The minister described the dialogue platform, initiated by the Voice of Nigeria (VON), as a pivotal step toward fostering national unity and rebuilding trust. He emphasized that inclusive governance and mutual respect between the government and citizens are critical for long-term national security.
“There can be no national security without national unity. And there can be no unity without trust,” Idris said. “In times like these, trust—not coercion—is our greatest national asset.”
Highlighting falling food prices and gains in the fight against insecurity, Idris asserted that the Tinubu-led government’s Renewed Hope Agenda is grounded in visible results and citizen engagement.
“The evidence is clear,” he concluded. “This administration is moving Nigeria forward—not just through rhetoric, but through measurable actions.”
