President Bola Tinubu has designated Dr. Olayemi Cardoso as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for an initial term of five (5) years, pending confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.

In addition, President Tinubu has given his approval to the nomination of four new Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN): Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro, Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo, Mr. Philip Ikeazor, and Dr. Bala M. Bello.

A statement released by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, on Friday, explains that these appointments align with President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope agenda.”

Furthermore, the statement emphasizes that President Tinubu anticipates these nominated individuals will effectively implement essential reforms within the Central Bank of Nigeria. These reforms are expected to bolster the confidence of both Nigerians and international partners in the process of restructuring the Nigerian economy towards sustainable growth and prosperity for all.
