Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa from Bauchi North has made a revelation regarding his wife, Zainab Bulkachuwa, who previously served as a judge. According to the senator, his wife utilized her position to show favoritism towards his colleagues in the senate.
Zainab Bulkachuwa, who was the first female president of the court of appeal, presided over significant cases such as the 2007 Sokoto state governorship election petition tribunal and a lawsuit involving the nomination challenge of Seriake Dickson, a former governor of Bayelsa.
Senator Bulkachuwa admitted during a senate valedictory session that he frequently influenced his wife’s decisions while she held office. He acknowledged that he encroached upon her freedom and independence, but she remained tolerant and even extended her assistance to his colleagues.
During the session, the outgoing senate president, Ahmad Lawan, interrupted the senator, expressing his disapproval of the direction the discussion was taking. The 10th house is scheduled to be inaugurated on June 13th.
