Senator Abdulahi Adamu, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, stated that the party’s leadership was attempting to reach a consensus on the allocation of the 10th Assembly’s leadership positions.
Adamu, who gave the hint while addressing journalists at the conclusion of a four-hour meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party on Wednesday in Abuja, stated that the meeting was not about zoning but about other issues in the party, and that the party emerged from the meeting stronger and more united.
“That is not the purpose of today’s meeting. We do not attend the zoning meeting as a solitary group. The purpose of zoning is to accommodate the person who holds the mandate of this nation, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu; we want to accommodate him. He travelled after the election and returned only last week, so we must transport him.
“And we cannot deny those who are ambitious, have zoning interests, or have individual interests. And as long as that exists, we must find a means to reach a level of consensus through persuasion. This is what we are currently working on. “This is not a one-day event,” he stated.
