Prof. Babagana Zulu Retains Seat as Borno State Governor

Prof. Babagana Zulum, the incumbent governor of Borno State and candidate for governor on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been proclaimed the victor in the election for governor of the state.
Prof. Jude Rabo, the Collation and Returning Officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Borno State, made the announcement regarding the outcome of the election that took place on Saturday. He stated that the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) received a total of 545,542 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Muhammed Jajeri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 82,147 votes.

When Rabo made the announcement that the governor had been re-elected, he said the following: “Babagana Zulum of the APC is today pronounced the winner and returned elected. Having satisfied the conditions of the law and scoring the highest number of votes in the election.”
