The social media application TikTok, which is owned by China, is going to be blocked on the smartphones used by government officials and civil servants.
Cabinet Office Minister Oliver Dowden is scheduled to address the Members of Parliament at a later time.
There has been no formal response made, but it is anticipated that Mr. Dowden will confirm the restriction on the app that is owned by the Chinese government on all devices.
Allegations have been made that TikTok gives the Chinese government access to the personal information of its users. This has been vehemently refuted by the firm.
