Tinubu will be Defeated due to APC’s Same-Faith Ticket -Datti Baba-Ahmed

Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), predicts that Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), would lose on Saturday.

Baba-Ahmed stated this in an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday, stating that Tinubu will be defeated due to the APC’s same-faith ticket.

He stated that Tinubu, who could not become President Muhammadu Buhari’s vice president in 2015, cannot impose a Muslim-Muslim pairing on Nigeria in 2023.

Datti stated that the “configuration” of the APC’s ticket will not function in the Nigeria of the present day.

He stated that only his party, the LP, is “properly built” to win the presidency and advance the nation.

“The reason Tinubu is not Nigeria’s vice president now is the same reason he cannot be president,” he remarked.

“What could not have occurred in 2015, when then-candidate [President Muhammadu] Buhari requested any nomination from Tinubu, because that configuration no longer exists.”

“That is no longer viable in Nigeria; a Muslim-Muslim ticket is no longer valid.”

Datti added that the LP will win in Lagos despite Tinubu’s influence in the state.

“With the grace of God, we’ve won Lagos, regardless of Tinubu’s presence there. Will they come out and distribute the voters?”

“Kaduna is an APC state, but it falls within our category A, making it a straightforward victory,” he remarked.

The vice-presidential candidate for the LP stated that his party will have a “easy victory” in Kano, but will struggle in Yobe and Zamfara.

With with Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of LP, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Tinubu is one of the frontrunners in the campaign (NNPP).

The presidential election is scheduled to occur nationwide on February 25.
