Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila has said that the current fuel and naira shortages are an attempt by “elements” to thwart Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 presidential election.
Gbajabiamila announced this on Tuesday in Lagos during the introduction of the second phase of the ‘Gbaja Ride’ transportation project for his Surulere constituents. The 35 low-cost buses will operate on various routes around Surulere and its surrounds.
Mr. Gbajabiamila added, “As your representative and a member of the House of Representatives, I have a clear awareness of the current hardships and discomfort encountered by many Nigerians, including my constituency.” “Under my leadership, the lower legislative house has been on the side of the people, working relentlessly to save them from these difficulties. I am delighted that the judiciary has also confirmed our position on the execution of the policy of naira redesign.”
He said that the new naira banknotes program had been hijacked and politicized, stating that certain elements created a problem surrounding the policy in order to prevent Mr. Tinubu from becoming the next president.
Mr. Gbajabiamila stated that the strategy appeared to be failing, as Nigerians continue to support the APC and Mr. Tinubu despite the havoc caused by the currency shortage.
“No one can convince me that this is not a plan to prevent Asiwaju from becoming president.” Mr. Gbajabiamila stated, “However, I am delighted that our God is a beautiful being because he has interfered in the conspiracy that these individuals sat down to hatch.”
He said, “I have accompanied Asiwaju’s campaign team to the East, North, and everywhere else, and I bow before Nigerians.”
