Buhari’s Henchman Sabi’u Tunde Refutes Working against Tinubu

Sabi’u Tunde Yusuf, the nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari, has denied working against All Progressives Congress presidential contender Bola Tinubu (APC).

Monday, Alwan Hassan, leader of the North-South Progressive Alliance, stated on Channels Television that Yusuf was using his close relationship with the president to prevent Tinubu from winning the elections.

He further said that Yusuf, who is Buhari’s personal assistant, has a significant impact on the new naira notes policy.

Hassan stated, “There is a young man named Sabi’u Tunde who is the lone one carrying out these actions.”

“Because he is so close to the president, he is attempting to take advantage of this chance. He could control anything or everything he desires. It is terrible that a boy of that age would do all of these things without examining the outcomes of other people who have engaged in similar behavior.

“Everything that occurs on these Naira notes is the work of Sabiu Tunde.

“He has spoken with numerous individuals. He has warned people that he is hell-bent on preventing us from winning elections and preventing Asiwaju from winning elections.

However, in a letter dated February 8 and written to Hassan, Tunde’s attorneys, Wole Olanipekun & Co, condemned the claims as “fabricated.”

TheCable is aware that Hassan was issued legal notice electronically.

The letter stated, “Our client disputes the charges and allusions to him contained in your publications as manufactured, concocted, created, fraudulent, and purposefully false.”

“Your publishing is intended to diminish our client’s standing in the eyes of decent people.

“Your acts toward our client were presumably motivated by malice, spite, and animosity.

“Our client’s reputation has been severely harmed, and he has endured a great deal of pain and disgrace. Moreover, the issues for which you have publicly assigned blame to our client are those that have received national attention and, in some reported instances, sparked violent protests. Consequently, your activities place our client at risk of physical damage.”

Yusuf is demanding N5 billion in libel damages from Hassan.

In addition, he demands “an unequivocal retraction of all claims issued by you regarding our client during the aforementioned broadcast.”

“A public apology to our client must be given via the same channel(s) through which the initial defamatory statements were publicized.

“Both the retractions and public apologies should be published in at least four Nigerian publications with coverage and circulation in all geopolitical zones.”

“If you do not comply with our client’s legitimate demands within 21 days of receiving this letter, our client reserves the right to pursue all legal recourses available to him under the laws to which you are subject, both locally and internationally, in order to seek redress for the unwarranted attacks on his person and the imputation of derogatory falsehood to his character by you.”
