On Wednesday, the Supreme Court postponed judgment in the new naira policy case until March 3, 2023.

The courtroom on Wednesday, when the matter was heard, was packed with Senior Advocates of Nigeria and other attorneys.

The court temporarily halted the implementation of the CBN’s February 10 deadline to make the old N200, N500, and N1,000 legal money.

The states of Zamfara, Kogi, and Kaduna filed the lawsuit against the Federal Government and the CBN.

Several states, including Niger, Kano, Ondo, and Ekiti, requested to join the suit against the CBN and the Federal Government.

Lagos State, represented by Attorney General Moyosore Onigbanjo, has filed a motion to join the litigation.

Bayelsa State, governed by Damian Dodo, had also requested to be added as a defendant to the lawsuit. Likewise, Edo State requested to be added as a respondent.
