Tinubu 2027 presidential bid has been formally confirmed after President Bola Tinubu completed the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination process ahead of the next general election. The development also confirms that Vice President Kashim Shettima will remain his running mate as the governing party prepares for the 2027 presidential contest.

The president’s nomination documents were submitted on his behalf by Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Ibrahim Masari, during a brief ceremony attended by APC leaders at the Continental Hotel in Abuja.

Tinubu 2027 Presidential Bid Confirmed by APC Nomination Process

Speaking after the submission, Masari said President Tinubu had fulfilled the party’s nomination requirements and would seek another four-year term under the APC platform.

He also confirmed that the party would maintain the Tinubu-Shettima ticket, keeping the same presidential and vice-presidential pairing that secured victory in the 2023 general election.

Continuity at the Top of the APC Ticket

The decision to retain Vice President Shettima signals continuity within the ruling party as it begins preparations for the next nationwide election.

Although the APC has formally received the nomination documents, the broader electoral process will continue in line with the timetable and regulations issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Political parties are expected to complete internal nomination procedures before candidates are officially presented for the general election.

What the Nomination Means

The submission of the nomination forms represents the formal start of President Tinubu’s campaign for a second term. It removes uncertainty over whether the incumbent would seek re-election and confirms the APC’s intention to campaign on its existing leadership team.

Political analysts expect the ruling party’s decision to shape political alignments in the months ahead, as opposition parties finalize their own candidates and campaign strategies before the election.

Background

President Bola Tinubu assumed office on May 29, 2023, after winning the presidential election under the APC platform. Since then, his administration has introduced a series of economic and governance reforms that have generated both support and criticism across the country.

The confirmation of his re-election bid marks an important milestone in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape as parties prepare for another highly anticipated presidential election.

Conclusion

The Tinubu 2027 presidential bid is now officially underway following the submission of his APC nomination forms. With Vice President Kashim Shettima retained as his running mate, the ruling party has reaffirmed its existing leadership ahead of the next presidential election, while attention shifts to the nomination processes of other political parties.
