Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has demanded the unedited release of his recent interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, insisting that the full version be aired to counter what he described as misleading narratives about religious persecution in Nigeria.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, November 12, Tuggar explained that his appearance on Piers Morgan’s flagship programme was intended to present a factual and contextual perspective on the issue of religious freedom in Nigeria.

“I appeared on @piersmorgan’s flagship programme, @PiersUncensored, where I presented a factual and contextual perspective on the misleading narratives and allegations of religious persecution in Nigeria,” he stated.

Minister Calls for Transparency and Full Context

Tuggar noted that his remarks were supported by verifiable data, even if they challenged existing biases. He urged that the entire interview be broadcast “exactly as recorded,” stressing the need for integrity and transparency in global media reporting.

“Nigeria’s truth must not be distorted to fit external biases,” he added.

As of press time, Piers Morgan Uncensored has yet to publish the unedited version of the interview on its official platforms.

Ongoing Debate Over Nigeria’s Religious Freedom

Tuggar’s comments come amid renewed international scrutiny of Nigeria’s religious freedom record and governance structure. The Minister reiterated that Nigeria remains committed to protecting the rights of all citizens, regardless of faith or ethnicity.
