Bullion Van Should Not Decide the Outcome of 2023 Election -Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has advised Nigerians not to allow bullion van inclinations to decide the outcome of the upcoming election.

In an email to his followers, Atiku appears to have referenced the two bullion vans observed visiting the residence of Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, prior to the 2019 general election.

He urged Nigerians to exercise the power of their Permanent Voter Card (PVC) to vote the All Progressives Congress (APC) out of office in the upcoming general election.

Atiku stated, “Recently, I had occasion to comment on the federal government’s currency conversion strategy.

“In the aforementioned remark, I aligned my stance with the surge in requests for a small extension of the January 31st deadline.

“While commending the CBN’s generosity for such an extension, it would be prudent for the institution to take immediate action and make the new currency accessible to the public.

“This is vital to alleviate the continued sufferings and frustration that have manifested across the country among our people.

“It is also important to recognize the commendable efforts of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) in their pursuit of criminals who stash cash in secret vaults.

“Under no circumstances must we allow bullion van tendencies to dictate the outcome of this election.”

“The frustration that we are all experiencing can be alleviated if the CBN continues to do its bit and if agents of the EFCC and ICPC also guarantee that people do not hide large sums of money from the public.

“The second part of the deal is for us, as Nigerians, to use the power of our PVCs to vote out the APC in the upcoming general election,” he stated.
