How Africa’s Problems Can Be Solved Through African solutions -Ex-President Obasanjo
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo expressed that Africa’s problems can be best solved through African solutions. He made this statement during a visit by students from the Tigray Region, Ethiopia, and other African countries who came to thank him for his role in achieving a cessation of hostilities in Tigray. Obasanjo played a key role as the High Representative of Horn of Africa in bringing about peace in the Tigray Region. He emphasized that finding African solutions to African problems was important and praised the role of the African Union (AU) in seeking peace and stability in the region.

Obasanjo also addressed the challenges still faced in the Tigray Region and the need for continued efforts to ensure peace, security, and development. He stressed that no problem in Africa is too great to be solved when the right approaches are taken, and he acknowledged the various challenges faced by the continent, including issues of peace, insecurity, unemployment, and governance.

He also cautioned against generalizing negative stereotypes about Africa or specific countries based on the actions of a few individuals, emphasizing that Africa is a diverse continent with both challenges and remarkable individuals. The students thanked Obasanjo for his role in achieving a cessation of hostilities in Tigray and acknowledged the progress made while highlighting the need for continued efforts to rebuild the war-torn region.
