In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Chief Bode George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), shared his views on President Bola Tinubu. George stated that Tinubu has shown greater maturity compared to his time as the governor of Lagos State.
While emphasizing that he remains a loyal member of the PDP, George acknowledged Tinubu’s influence as a powerbroker and clarified that he does not consider himself an enemy of the President. However, George also emphasized the importance of effective management of both the people and resources of the country.
Regarding Tinubu’s administration in its initial three weeks, George stated that it is not a short-term race but a long-term management process. He believes that Tinubu needs to manage his people and the country’s resources for the betterment of Nigeria, and acknowledged that the current state of affairs is not perfect but reasonably better than what was experienced during Tinubu’s time as Lagos State governor.
George also mentioned that if the President approaches him to work together for the good of the country, he would seek permission from the PDP. Additionally, he expressed confidence in the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and anticipated a favorable outcome for him at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja.
However, George emphasized the need to wait for the final verdict of the judiciary, stating that once the process is concluded and the court declares Atiku as the President, there would be no further recourse but to pray for Nigeria.
