Mr. Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communication to Atiku Abubakar, has offered advice to former Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, suggesting that he should reduce his alcohol consumption in light of Wike’s recent revelation that his liver and kidneys failed due to suspected poisoning.

In a statement issued on Monday, Shaibu pointed out that Wike has been quite open about his fondness for alcohol, particularly whiskey, and has even admitted to drinking it in the early hours of the day. Given the extent of Wike’s drinking habits, Shaibu speculated that it is more likely he experienced alcohol poisoning rather than food poisoning.

Shaibu highlighted the health risks associated with excessive alcohol consumption, including high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, liver disease, digestive problems, and various types of cancer. He also raised questions about Wike’s hoarse voice, suggesting that it may not be solely attributed to food poisoning if that were the case.

The statement further advised Wike to engage in self-reflection and confession, rather than focusing on thanksgiving, considering his controversial role in the Rivers State election, which was marred by irregularities as evident in the results on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) viewing portal.

Shaibu referenced Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, who previously characterized Wike as erratic, likening him to a naked wire. While acknowledging Makinde’s assessment, Shaibu questioned why Makinde would support someone with such characteristics for the presidency of Nigeria, urging him instead to prioritize delivering the promised benefits of democracy to the people of Oyo State.

In conclusion, Shaibu advised Governor Makinde to concentrate on fulfilling his responsibilities to the people of Oyo State rather than aligning himself with Wike and other former governors who are currently seeking employment and protection from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
