The Kwara State Government on Monday approved a temporary palliative measure to provide some relief to workers in the state following the Federal Government’s removal of diesel subsidies.
In light of this, the state governor, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has ordered a reduction from five to three workdays per week for all state government employees.
Monday in Ilorin, State Head of Service Mrs. Susan Modupe Oluwole made this statement.
According to the statement, “the State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has ordered that every worker’s workweek be reduced from five to three days per week.”
Mrs. Oluwole also instructed the heads of all ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) in the state to promptly devise a format outlining the alternating work days for each employee under their supervision.
The Head of Service, however, cautioned the employees against abusing the Governor’s generosity and emphasised that her office would intensify its regular monitoring of MDAs to ensure stringent compliance.
